This morning it was chilly and a bit foggy. I sat by the fire and waited for the sun to cast enough light to go out and do the routine chores. I stopped to enjoy the beauty of Fall in all its' glory.
This is Virginia Creeper. The Fall berries are so beautiful. The leaves turn a magnificent red color. Oh and the Maple Tree has a spectacular palate of colors.
I feel content here at home.
What I really wish is that every woman had a choice in choosing whether to work outside the home or not. What I mean by choice is, it's OK to be a working woman, it's OK to be a Home Maker. It's not OK that today's economy demands the income of two people, in order to maintain, for some, even a minimalistic lifestyle. Often times there is no choice for a woman. The movement of the 60's-70's was to allow choices and equal rights for women. Are we not in a similar situation today? Some women are now fighting for the right to be at home and care for the family. What once was considered "old fashioned standard" is now considered a privilege by some.
I am very fortunate to be where I am today.
It's exactly where I want to be.
The Girasole Lady
p.s. I am slightly reluctant to post this tonight, because it expresses my opinion, something I rarely make public. It's time for me to believe in myself.
