You can never really plan the exact time to start the process. Tomatoes ripen when they are good and ready. This year we got a late start on planting, which meant a much later crop. Although, I have spoken with several gardeners that planted early and still had late ripening.
When Winter comes..you have Summer in a jar.
We are still having a fair share of cucumbers and corn to enjoy from the garden.
I will miss the freshness of it all as the days cool, but I am ready for the change in the seasons.

Tomorrow is the first day of Fall and the Autumn Equinox, where the day has equal amounts of light and dark, then the days will gradually become shorter.
My family is well and happy, as am I.
