Our Local Farmer's Market

Just about every Saturday morning we head out to our local Farmer's Market downtown.
Usually it's all of us together, and it is starting to turn into a regular family
get together. Living in a small town certainly has its benefits.
There is hardly ever a trip into town that doesn't involve chatting with
old friends or making a new friend, and Farmer's Market is no exception.
I decided on this trip to the Market that I would use my cell phone camera
and take a few pictures.

Our local Market started several years ago, and was very small and not a lot of people went there. I wondered if it could really survive.
Our small community has provided the support it has needed to thrive, and I am proud to be a part of that.

This is just a portion of the homegrown goods available. There is just about every kind of fruit and vegetable you can think of, fresh and yummy. There are also things like eggs, bread, honey and olive oil.

It's a wonderful way to support your local Farmer's.

Attempted Garden Video

Yesterday morning I was trying to think of a different/creative way to add my garden pictures to my blog.

(and yes... it took me 24 hours to get this figured out and posted.)
Seriously!
These garden pictures were taken yesterday morning.
Our garden is much smaller than in years past.

Today I'm working on a painting project. You know those cabinets, that are readily available at home improvement stores, that you put behind/above your potty toilet? When Kristina moved a few weekends ago she had one in her old bathroom and she didn't want to take it with her, and of course I had all sorts of visions on how I could renovate the cabinet. I painted it brown as a base, and when it is dry I will paint over the brown with some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White, then do a little distressing.
I'll show pictures when I am all done with it.

Settling Down

It's been 4 days now since my Sister went home. There have been plenty of  chores to get caught up with, cleaning, laundry, watering and weeding the gardens. The weather has been HOT.. like around 105!!!

There is a lingering 'blue' feeling that hangs around with me after my sister goes back home to the city.

fast forward.............
I started this post yesterday.........

Today is a new day, another new beginning.
With that thought in mind today I will:
1. Get back to healthy eating choices. (blundered a time or two with Sis here)
2. Vacumn. (maverick is tracking in stickers from the field into the house)
3. Laundry
4. Water, water, water the gardens
5. Pull a few (tons) of weeds here and there.
-watering and weeding the gardens NEVER ends in the Summer-

Nothing too exciting. Often times 'nothingness' is a very good day.
The heat today is suppose to reach only in the high 90's. A reprieve from the intense heat we've been having. I still love Summer, even through the heat, bugs, and sometimes slight humidity.

That being said, it's time to get away from my Blog Home and start on those chores.

Just Hanging Out

This week my sister is visiting from the Bay Area.
We have been having a crazy, good time.
I've been away from the computer, just hanging out with family.
Lots of laughter, chatting, crafting, and cooking.
I'll be back in a few days.

It's late but...
HAPPY 4th of July

Mia loves watermelon, and her Grammy.
